You've put the time in, or the money, or often both, you've got your product or service to sell, you've got the website, you've organized a payment merchant for taking orders online, you've even organized your delivery whether offline or online. What do you need now? In a nutshell: you need traffic, as much as you can get of quality targeted traffic.

Every online business needs traffic. And the best website traffic in the world is targeted customers who want to buy from you. Do not spend anything on paid advertising when you first start marketing your business. You are almost an odds on certainty to lose money. I know because I've done it. Some marketers insist it is the way to get fast instant results. Okay, you will get quick results but you'll most likely go broke first before you make enough sales to pay for it. Let's be honest: most of us starting out have nothing or nearly next to nothing. All you require are tips on how to drive free targeted traffic to your website.

If hard work is not your thing then don't read any further. The most important time you spend on your business is marketing. Set aside time to slowly build your business. Work through the list I provide. What I've set out is a staged programme to help you drive traffic to your site. Yes, it involves work and yes, your results won't be immediate BUT you will be building a business that will grow and grow and grow. If you aim to use all the resources that successful online marketers use you will get free traffic and it will not e subject to the problems that Google often causes well established sites when Google decides to change its own rules for website ranking. However, a word of warning: never, ever write directly about your website, particularly if you are trying to sell something from it. Turn it around. For example if you are selling luxury chocolate write an article posing the question about the best chocolate you can buy. What should it have as its major ingredients? From there you can do a series of articles all about chocolate. Brainstorm! Use your resource box to put in the link to your site. Behave as an expert on quality chocolate.
