Democratization Of Wealth Needs You
By: John Hutchinson

Previously I wrote about the opportunities for the individual creation of wealth and used the phrase "democratization of wealth" (stolen from Paul Zane Pilzer). In that article I claimed that working for yourself was safer than working for a corporation (Pilzer again) because large corporations are proving to be unstable and are, in fact, dismantling.

This is the effect of change which is snowballing out of control (well almost). Managing this change is occupying the minds of CEOs and government officials with an ever increasing urgency.

So while they are so occupied it is up to us business entrepreneurs to push ahead with the democratization of wealth. This simply means to pursue our dream of creating our own individual wealth. This is evolution taking place - not revolution. It is natural progression.

Here's the thing. When you started out in this life most of you had a vague plan of making a better life for yourself. That is how it should be. That is what evolution is. It's the natural order of things. Our health care has evolved; our government has evolved; our science has evolved. And this will continue.

Everything evolves!

Evolution seems to be constrained by modern commerce however, this will change in the future. Making a better life for you (evolution) today means creating enough wealth so that you can exercise choice in life. Now I know there are some who shudder at this idea. I understand that. Evolution for them does not revolve around material things. However, I am not talking only about material things. I am talking about having sufficient wealth so that you can exercise choice. With enough wealth you may chose to make a significant impact in a social context if you so wish.

Hopefully by now, you accept the concept that it is safer to be self employed than to be employed. Just ask the thousands of recently unemployed around the globe. And it is not going to get any safer with the large corporations dismantling. The pace of technological is already having a huge impact on employment and will continue to do so with or without the recession. Individual entrepreneurs are on the increase. The democratization of wealth is surging ahead. Around the globe the number of individual millionaires has nearly doubled in the last 10 years. The recession won't affect this surge. In fact it may fuel it as thousands, if not millions, of people seek to become self employed.

Now here's where they will go - to the internet. Starting an online business using internet technology offers the best opportunity for the new business entrepreneurs. These businesses buck the trend. They don't expect you to come up with large amounts of cash.

You will have to work. There may be technical challenges. If you are fortunate enough to have employment you will have to work after hours. However, you can do this at your own pace. If you can only schedule 12 hours during the week and 8 hours at the weekend then make sure you do this with consistency. Because this is not just a business you are starting - it is your very survival. You must grasp this. If you greet it like a hobby, then a hobby is all it will ever be.

The time you allocate is over to you. Technical challenges are something else. There are home business ideas where the only skill you require is to be able to access the internet and send an email. If more is required then go to night school and up skill. Yes, it is that important. Times are changing fast - you can't afford to be left behind. Eventually you made need a website. If so, you may need to learn some HTML. Do whatever it takes or hire someone.

The democratization of wealth part of the evolution process is here and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Prepare to be part of it.

Good luck
